The accommodations range from the very exclusive, very private islands that serve the very wealthy down to the backpacker hostels. The majority of the accommodation falls somewhere in between. With the downturn in the economy since 2000, the value of the Fijian dollar has fallen, making travel from the United States especially attractive.
