 Banking in Fiji

How to Get Local Currency upon arrival?

An ANZ Bank branch in the international arrivals concourse at Nandi International Airport is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  It charges a F$2.00 fee for each transaction over F$100, F$1.00 if under that amount.  Neither ANZ Bank’s other branches nor any other bank charges such a fee.  There's an ATM on the wall outside the branch, where you can draw Fijian currency using your MasterCard or Visa cards.  There is a service charge of approximately US$2.50, plus your individual bank may also have a service charge on each transaction.

How and where to bank inside the country of Fiji?

ANZ Bank, Westpac Bank, National Bank of Fiji, Habib Bank and Bank of Baroda all have offices throughout the country where currency and traveler's checks can be exchanged.  Bank of Hawaii has offices in Nandi Town and Suva, as its operations are more American than the others, which follow Australian and New Zealand banking practices.  The Bank of Hawaii and ANZ Bank both have ATMs at their Nandi and Suva branches.  Australian and New Zealand Banking Group, Fiji Development Bank, Merchant Bank of Fiji, National Australia Bank all have an office in Suva.

 Banking Hours?

Banking hours nationwide are Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 3pm and Friday from 9:30am to 4pm.  Please be aware of the All Fijian Observed Holidays, when the banks, other than the ANZ Bank at the airport, will be closed.  You can also cash traveler's checks at Thomas Cook Travel Service offices in Nandi Town and Suva.
